how can I put in marquee?

  I need to show scrolling marquee of upcoming events on my blog itself so that people can click on the scrolling text to directly go to the pages. This is a must because my blog is growing everyday.
  This is what I want to use: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/marquee/installation/

  We don’t allow plugins on WordPress.com for security reasons. Plugins are a feature only available for self-hosted blogs provided through WordPress.org.

  At this time, there’s no way to do a marquee besides HTML code in a post or page, but this may not work in all browsers.
