how do I move and rearrange images on a page
didn’t realize when I set up the page to click the curser where I want the image. Now when I add an image the cursor won’t work and the new image gets mixed in with the established images I want the new images to be first in line at the top.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi Joanne!

You should be able to rearrange the images within your blog posts by dragging and dropping them with your cursor. Here’s a screencast example:

Can you give that a try and let me know if you have any luck on your side?

    Hi Jeremey
No they won’t move tried by clicking and dragging

    Hi!

Can you let me know whether you’re using the new post editor or the classic post editor? The URL will help you to know the difference:

    Classic: joannecurrah.wordpress.com/….

    New: wordpress.com/post

An alternative would be to remove the image and then re-add it wherever you want it within the text but that’s a bit cumbersome! Just to clarify, when you click on the image and attempt to drag it, you should see a small dotted cursor that indicated where you’re currently dragging the image to. You can barely see it in my screencast.

Can you let me know what’s happening when you click the image and try to drag it within the text?

Sorry Jeremey I didn’t reply sooner but have been really busy.
I’m not sure how to tell which post editor I am using. When I go to log in it says wordpress.com only.
when I go to pages and hover over abstracts it says “edit quick edit view” I click on edit and the edit box comes up showing all my thumbnail pix when I click on an image nothing happens, I have tried holding the left mouse down and tried to drag the image nothing. When I right click the mouse the whole edit box gets an outline around it..
Jeremey I am finding this so hard, I really think I will try to move to a easier, simpler host. WordPress looks good but I am not a techie and am self taught with all this so I think I need something more simple. If I shut it down it won’t be til January as I haven’t the time to investigate etc. til then. I have started to set up Weebly but have to find out how I move my domain etc. to there. I really am a newbie in all this.

Ah! Thank for clarifying this. So, it sounds like you’re trying to edit a gallery, not individual images.

You can think of a gallery like a collective set of images that move together. So, it’s not possible to click and drag on a particular image in a gallery to move it around. That only applies to single images, which act more like lone rangers within your content.

Could you tell me what page you’re trying to edit? I’ll be happy to make a screencast displaying how you can move images around within that page!

We certainly understand if you need to move to another host, but we will miss you!

Please let me know if you run into any questions regarding moving your site.

    Hi Joanne!

I’ve created a video demonstrating how you can move videos around on that page. I’ve emailed it to the address on file for your account. Can you take a looK?
