How can I receive an email when someone adds a post on a private blog I administer?
-
I have checked my notification settings and email address and suspect email box and I am not receiving email notifications when other ‘authors’ on my blog have posted. How can I make that happen?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Thank you for a quick reply. I did read that page. None of the items fit my situation. I am wondering whether the problem is with my account settings.
I have three blog sites. The “primary site” was not the blog I was trying to receive emails about. When I change the primary site to the blog I’m concerned with (unitydiversityblog.wordpress.com), then “Save Account Settings”, the “Settings Saved Successfully” message appears, BUT the primary site has reverted to a prior site (costacardonal.wordpress.com).
Is this because I am “Ruth @ costacardonal”? From this username I can only see the costacardonal.wordpress.com blog sites? Or is there some other inconsistency?

Hi there,
You won’t automatically receive email notifications when other authors on your site create posts. The software is not designed to do that.
The only way to get email notifications for new posts on your site is to 1) follow your site, and 2) enable email notifications for the site via the Reader. It looks like you have done both of these, as you are subscribed for email notifications from costacardonal.wordpress.com
The most recent post on that site was Ruth’s Story on the 20th, and our logs show an email was sent to your email address for that post. If you didn’t receive it, the email might be in your Spam folder or is otherwise being filtered or blocked by your email provider.
I’m not sure what the issue is regarding the primary blog. Your primary blog is currently set as unitydiversityblog.wordpress.com, and our logs show you made that change two days ago. It saved as it should have from what I can see.
Note that the primary blog and the site linked to your username are not the same thing. The primary site is the one that will be selected by default when you click the New Post button in the top bar, while the site linking to your username needs to be set under the Website field in your account settings.

Hello Kokkieh, thanks so much for your attention to my issue. I’m trying to sort out a confusion I seem to have created as well as learn how my personal user settings relate to the domains I have. And I’m learning, since I haven’t been consistent in my use of WordPress over the years.
The costacardonal.wordpress.com domain is not my active domain. To help clarify, I’ve renamed that blog to “Inactive Site” and removed the posts in it.
The domain unitydiversityblog.wordpress.com is my current concern. I will take some time to absorb your guidance on the primary blog issue, rather than take your time.. but please allow me to reply to you again after I’ve done my work.
Thanks so much for your help so far.
Aloha,

You’re welcome to ask if you have any more questions. I’m signing off for the day now as it’s dinnertime where I live, so I won’t reply right away :)
