How can I recover a missing version of a "Press this" post?
-
Help! I lost most of a post i was writing. I was using the “Press This” feature to comment about an article I’d found, and I’d gotten a few paragraphs in when the screen froze and I couldn’t scroll. So I saved the post as a draft, then logged in to my blog dashboard in another browser window (I’m using chrome). Well, there was a version of my post, but a very truncated one-maybe a third of all that I’d written. I sure hope someone can help me recover what I’ve lost.

This is the only revision of that post, so unfortunately that’s all there is.
I’m not sure what happened to the rest, since this is all the system stored.

Grrr…that’s really frustrating. it’s a highly random place in the post to save as well. the last 2 words are the beginning of a sentence which I deleted and re-wrote. Has this sort of thing happened before to others with the Press This feature?
-
I haven’t heard of it happening before with Press This. If I had to guess, I’d say it wouldn’t happen again.
-
Could it be an issue with the Chrome browser? I can always just use the Press This as a clipboard, then edit the post thru my dashboard.
-
It may not be a problem with Chrome, but it’s probably more of an issue with copying and pasting.
Copying can sometimes bring in invalid characters that the post editor can’t understand.
-
That’s odd, since I didn’t copy and paste anything into the editor. I did add a link to another article, but that’s it.

Just to be sure that this doesn’t happen again, would you mind creating a test “Press This” post? If you come across the same error, this will also help us take a closer look for you.

Sure. I remember now that I did copy and paste a block of text from the article I was referencing, so that theory is still valid.
