How can I recover an accidentally erased post, which was previously published?
-
I had created and published a post entitled “It Was A Very Good Year” back in the middle of March. For some reason, there was an old draft of that post still hanging out in my dashboard, which wax marked as “failed to update.” Today I tried to delete that old draft, and instead, the draft overwrote the previously completed and published post. Is my work still available somewhere, or is it gone forever? Please help!

You ought to be able to recover the other version from revisions if needs be. http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/post-revisions/

Hooray! I have some advice to share with you:
Always create your posts on the dashboard of your own blog at
Dashboard > Posts > All Posts > Add New
Always allow pages to fully load before clicking any other links.
Use an offline blog editor so you have backups on your own computer http://en.support.wordpress.com/xml-rpc/
