How can I recover my wordpress blog

  • Unknown's avatar

I created in August this year the blog https://fromparistowhere.wordpress.com/ for the novel I am writing but I haven’t signed in since then ( if I remember well was around the 19th of August ) and now I can’t even remember my username or the email address I used back then for it.
How can I find at least the username for it, who can I ask for that ? ( password shouldn’t be a problem as I have only a set of passwords I always use but with no username I cannot sign in ). Have I lost my blog ?
Thank you, any help appreciated !

    Account Recovery Page

    Lost Password

If you have comments set to “Moderate” try leaving a comment on the site as the Admin / owner should be sent an email – or if you only have a few email addresses – try each address one at a time – (but not all at once – don’t know what the spam features are to prevent you account from unauthorized access are)

Note: the staff will usually NOT give out owners account names for a site – privacy issue – they might send an email to the admin / owner – but you would still need to find the email

Thank you. Thing is for that blog I disabled comments and ( to create it ) I made a gmail account only for it ( gmail account I can’t remember ). I don’t need the actual name but the “username” for the login.

There’s only one means of account recovery. Beyond submitting the link to the form for contacting Account Recovery Staff we Volunteers cannot help you here.

  • Hi @taicaterezu, this site is under another account with a different email address. Can you check all of your addresses to see if you can find account creation information, then use that here to regain access?

    Thanks!

Hi Supernovia, and thank you for the reply. That’s what I’m trying to reply, I made that email address only and special for that blog and that’s why I can’t remember it ( its not one of my usual emails ). The nick under which I write everything is Guy B. Unknown so considering its Gmail where dots can be used in usernames they are tens of possibilities so that’s the thing I try to get : the username. Once I get this I can get in that gmail account and in the blog.
I tried that recovery link but I cannot send that form because I’m asked : Do you have a transaction ID? Do you have an activation URL or key? Do you have two factor authentication codes? …well I have none and I can’t let blank that spaces.
The activation URL its in that gmail account which …I can’t remember :)))

There should be a box to the effect or “other” or “I don’t know” somewhere on the form based on what different staff members have said in the past

  • I can’t reveal the email address, but I can send an email to it and have done that.

I can say if it were a combination of gmail and dots, it would still go to your regular email gmail address, regardless of dots or plusses or anything similar. So if you didn’t get my email, can you check your other addresses?

Thank you supernovia, still didn’t figure out what email I used but its ok, just got today the .com domain for that name and I’ll do it there. I guess this one will die there unfinished as I see I can’t get to any result like this. Thank you anyway

  • Would you have given someone else access to change the address on file?

No Supernovia, nobody else but me logged in there and I always did it only from this IP. As much as I try to remember I really can’t figure out which gmail address I used to create and log in there as I did it only for few days after I started that blog at the beginning of August. If I cannot log in is it at least anywhere where I can request to be taken down now that I took my own domain / website for my project ?
Thank you again for the time responding me !
