How can I remove the ads that have been placed on my blog?

Someone is using my website for their ads, and I urgently need to have them removed. I also want to know how this can happen. Has my site been hacked?

WordPress ads typically don’t show up very often. If the ads don’t include a statement like, “About these ads” then they aren’t from WordPress, and are more likely caused by malware, or because of a browser extension or toolbar you may have installed.

You either pay for hosting or you pay not to have ads. That’s why the No Ads upgrade exists; what did you think it was for?

Exactly where are these ads appearing?
Are they appearing below posts?
If the ads you see are found at the end of blog posts then provided you see this small About These Ads link what you are seeing is WordPress.com generated advertising.Are they appearing on images?

ok, thanks for the info!:) The ads appeared on my front page, but theyre gone now. I think it was just a bug, it was not the wordpress ads anyway.
