How can I remove the author and theme name from the bottom of my page?

    Hey,

    I am currently working on my site and I have selected a theme that I like. How can I go about removing the theme name and author from the bottom of each page?

    I contacted the author, and offered compensation, but he said that he doesn’t have the authority once it is on wordpress.

    If I opt to purchase the custom Design, will I be able to remove the theme and author’s?

    Also, when I hold the mouse over certain links on this theme in particular, the background of the link is not large enough. I need this fixed too.

    The theme author credit needs to remain in accordance with out terms of service.
