How can I remove the permalinks from the rotating slide show images on my site?

I have built a site with the Skylark theme and customized CSS. I have 10 rotating images on my home page but when rolled over, they show a permalink. If a visitor clicks on it, they’re taken to nothing more than the back end info for that image. how can I disable these permalinks which are distracting and not necessary?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hi there – The sliders on our themes are meant to highlight your post, not to be slideshows of images only. It’s not possible to change that. Some people do request this, and we might add a theme with a feature like that in future.

I see your slider is linking to the individual posts (which it should do), not the backend for the images (which it shouldn’t). Did you fix that already?

To make the link more useful, you can also insert the same image into the post body as well as set it as a featured image, so that at least when people click on the image, they still see the image in the linked post.

To change the actual text of the tooltip (the bit that shows when you hover over the image), edit the image title.

Ok…thanks for the info. I will take your suggestions and see if I can make it more useful. Can you keep this thread open for a few days if I have more questions? Thanks!
