How can I remove the Reply box on my homepage?

I have created an about page (static page) as my home page. I cannot seem to get rid of the reply box that appears at the bottom of the text that I have written. It does not make sense for the reader to reply to the informational text so I would like it removed.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there!
You can close comments on a page by opening the page editor and scrolling down to the Discussion module. Uncheck the box next to ‘Allow comments’:
If you don’t see the Discussion module, click on ‘Screen Options’ at the top of the page and check the box next to ‘Discussion.’

Thanks for your reply but that does not do the trick. I want the whole “Leave a Reply” box to disappear from this page however I still want the Recent Activity items to show up on the right hand side.

Hi there!
The directions I gave you will do just that! When you uncheck Allow comments the box that says “Leave a Reply” will go away, but this will not affect your Recent Activity widget.
Can you try it out and let me know how it goes?
