How can I renew my domain name?

    I recently received an e-mail from WordPress titled ‘Renewal Notice from WordPress.com’ notifying me that my blog’s domain name, seoulsuburban.com, will expire on January 2, 2015 and telling me:

    To renew, cancel or otherwise manage your domain(s) and for further assistance, please go to the Store -> My Upgrades section of your WordPress.com dashboard.

    However, when I go to My Upgrades I see a notice that my domain name is expiring, but nothing, no link, that enables me to renew it. In the past I received an e-mail from WordPress with a direct link to a page where I could renew the domain for a year for $18, but I haven’t received an e-mail like that this year, and although I’ve looked all over the website for a place where I can renew my domain name I’ve found nothing. Could you please provide me with a link and/or give me detailed instructions so that I might renew my domain name before it expires?

    Also, several times I’ve tried to change the address in the My Domains – Domain Contact Information section and clicked ‘Save’, but every time I go back the changed have not been saved. If you could assist with this as well I’d appreciate it.

    Hi there,

    So it looks like the domain was not purchased from your account. Please log into the account that originally purchased the domain and you will be able to renew it by going to Store > My Upgrades in the Dashboard.

    Hi Jiyoung, thanks a lot for your reply! I believe that’s correct, that the domain was not purchased from my account. My assumption is that the domain was purchased by the account ‘thiskentuckygirl’, but this person is no longer involved with the blog and hasn’t been for two years, and during that time I’m certain that the domain name was renewed from my account, so I don’t understand why suddenly I’m not able to do that. Unfortunately I do not have ‘thiskentuckygirl’s log-in information and at the moment it would be very difficult for me to get it. Both now and in the future it’s very important that I be able to renew the domain from my account, as I have in the past. Is there any way WordPress can help out with this? Thanks for your time and your help!

    Hi Charlie,

    So it looks like the credit card on file is yours, but the domain is actually under that other user’s account.

    So what we can do is transfer over the domain to you with the PayPal transaction ID since it was under your name. Please check your email for instructions from me regarding this!
