How can I reset a new password if WordPress won't accept my email address?
-
About 2 years ago I started a website and was using WordPress to write informative articles for the website. I haven’t posted in probably a year and now I can’t get into my WordPress site to write a new article. It tells me my password is wrong and when I type in my email address (which has not changed) to set a new password, it tells me there is no such email associated with my user name and if I type in my user name it tells me to expect an email which I never receive. I tried starting all over again, today, as a brand new user with WordPress.com but I can’t figure out how to post to my website. I’m afraid I’m not very competent when it comes to computers so would appreciate any advice you could give. Thanks very much.

The e-mail address registered with your WordPress.com account is your unique identifier. There are two main types of email notifications that you’ll receive from WordPress.com. You may want to designate a different email addresses for each of these. The email address you used when registering your WordPress.com account is listed in:
the Settings tab on the WordPress.com home page, or
Users -> Personal Settings in your dashboardhttp://en.support.wordpress.com/email-notifications/
If you attempt to change the e-mail address in your Personal Settings and find that it never sticks after saving the changes the e-mail address you are attempting to use is probably associated with another WordPress.com account. Is there a way to post my blog from the new WordPress user site I started today, onto my website that I was posting to from my previous WordPress account that I can no longer access? The URL for my new site is the URL for my website but when I published the blog it did not go to my website. I don’t know where it went so I’m thinking I should unpublish it.

To be clear this site > http://goldenvalevet.com/ is not a free hosted WordPress.com blog and we cannot help you with it. You need to post to http://wordpress.org/support/ for help with that site.
What is the URL of the site you refer to here?
WordPress account that I can no longer access?

THis blog is a free hosted wordpres.com blog http://goldenvalevet.wordpress.com/ and it can be accessed by logging in using this link http://goldenvalevet.wordpress.com/wp-admin/
Note that the reason you see this

http://goldenvalevet.com/resources/ is a self-hosted WordPress.org blog, which we really can’t help with.
To clear up any confusion, WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two different entities.
WordPress.org has complete support and documentation sites for self-hosted/installed versions of WordPress via their Codex and Support Forums.
