How can I reset and update tumblr import?

Hi! First of all I want to say that my tumblr import went very successfully and I am very grateful to the wordpress for this opportunity. But I have one question. A few days ago I noticed some button in admin panel which allowed me to reset my import in order to update information about my tumblr blog to import the most recent posts (which were added since the previous import). But now this option just disappeared. How can I reset and update my import now?

You’re welcome :)
It looks like the import on your site has completed – some content has been imported, and no import is currently running so there isn’t any need to reset it manually.
If you’re still missing posts, please restart the import now – posts already on your WordPress.com site will be skipped by the importer. It might take a while to complete, though, as we’re still seeing a lot of new Tumblr imports being created so there’s still a backlog. At this point I’m not able to give an estimate on how long it might take to catch up with the backlog.

Sorry but it’s not what I asked about. I know that I need another import and I know how to do it but this option just disappeared from the dashboard a few days ago – I just can’t start another import because I can’t do reset/restart.

I just can’t start another import because I can’t do reset/restart.
That option is no longer there because the last import is complete. I’ve reset the importer from my side to give you a fresh start, just in case anything was still running. Could you try running the next import and let me know if you have any more trouble?

It’s alright now! But does it mean that I can’t reset the imported by myself and import is designed as a one-time action?

That’s correct — staff will need to cancel the import once it has started running. You have the option to
Disconnect from Tumblron the importer but this is only visible when an import is running, could that be what you saw? -
There was two options, always visible: disconnect and reset but then the second option was unfortunately replaced by the inscription “If your import has not completed within 24 hours, please contact support”.

The one option wasn’t working well, staff still had to reset if a reset was necessary, plus people were clicking it a lot even while their imports were still running. So we removed that option to reduce confusion.
