How can I resize a video (not embedded You Tube) using the video upgrade?

Hi, I’m wondering how to resize a video. I have the video upgrade. I’ve found lots of information on resizing a video embedded from You Tube, but nothing about what to do if you are using the WordPress video upgrade option.

    Thanks! – Tommy

    Hi Tommy,

Our VideoPress player chooses the best size for your videos based on your theme’s content width. However, if you’d like you can change the size of the player in the VideoPress shortcode.

Here’s an example of the regular VideoPress shortcode:

    [wpvideo 6nd4Jsq7]

You can change the size of the video player by specifying the width in the shortcode like this:

    [wpvideo 6nd4Jsq7 w=640]

You can find this information along with more about using VideoPress videos on this page: VideoPress

Please let me know if you have any questions! :)

Thanks Rachel, I’ll give that a try!

Hmmm….where do I find the Video Press shortcode? BTW, I use WordPress.com if that makes a difference.

Should I be seeing the video player in “my upgrades?”

    Thanks, Tommy

    Hi Tommy,

There are two ways to get the VideoPress shortcode:

    1. If you want to put the video in a new post or page, you can use the Add Media button when you are creating or editing the post/page. Just select the video from your media library, and when you click the Insert into Post button it will insert the shortcode for you. Then, you can make any changes to the width of the video player by making changes to that shortcode.

    2. You can also find the VideoPress shortcode for each of your videos by going directly to your media library under Media > Add New in your dashboard. You can click on the title of the video you want, and that will take you to the video’s edit/settings page. The shortcode is on that page, and you can copy it from there.

Let me know if you have any questions about that! :)
