How can I restore email notification from WordPress re: new "likes" and new followers?

I no longer receive email notice from WordPress of new “likes” or new followers re: either of my blogs (alawersprayers.com or avoicereclaimed.com). It is extremely difficult to respond to new readers without that. Have I inadvertently changed some setting, or has WordPress perhaps abandoned this practice?

Oddly, I do receive email notice if someone has “liked” a comment I have made on one of my blogs. This occurs though the blogs themselves do not appear — to me, at any rate — to have the star symbol tallying such “likes”. I am not certain whether this is a problem with the blogs or not.

FYI, it is annoying to be notified that someone has “liked” a comment, but not notified at the same time whether that individual has added a new comment. The ambiguity requires a return visit to the site (unnecessary when there has been no new comment).

    Any clarification would be appreciated!

    Hi there!

The email settings for post likes and new followers are controlled separately from the comment likes setting. You can turn on email notification of new subscribers, likes, and comments on your site in your dashboard at Settings > Discussion:

    https://alawyersprayers.wordpress.com/wp-admin/options-discussion.php

Currently the boxes for “Someone likes one of my posts”, “Someone reblogs one of my posts”, and “Someone follows my blog” are all unchecked. Make sure you save your changes!
