  how do I secure my hosted word press site. I am using the hosted version from WordPress.

  You can make the blog private http://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/privacy-settings/ or you can hire a web host and set up a WordPress.org install. http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
