How can i see whether the domain I want is free?

  Hi! Im trying to create a page for a client’s event… but when I try to register the domain it says is (free translation from Dutch) : Sorry we cant seem to find any suggestions.

  I cant make a payment today, although Id be happy to put in my own card details for the 14 days trial and switch it next week!

  Hi there. The easiest way to see if a domain is available is to search for it on a domain registrar’s website, like on GoDaddy.com. If it shows as available there, you should also be able to register it via WordPress.com, provided it’s one of the domains that can be registered via WordPress.com. https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/#available-domains

  If you can’t register the domain via WordPress.com you’ll need to register the domain with a different registrar and then buy the domain mapping upgrade here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/
