How can I send an email through gmail using my email address from wordpress?
-
Hello
I bought the domain name:msimonrobin-ltd.com and as a gmail user.
I would like to send emails through gmail but using my (email visible only to moderators and staff) as a sender.
I tried to do it in gmail via “Add another email address that you own” in the “account and import” tab but I always get the message : “Your other email provider is responding too slowly. Please try again later or contact the administrator of your other domain for further information.”
Is there any way to do it?Cheers,
SimonThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi Simon,
To do this in GMail you’ll need to setup a full-service email provider, one option of which is Google Apps. See the notes here:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/email-forwarding/#changing-your-from-address
WordPress email forwarding sets up email aliases, not full accounts, that’s why the import fails. GMail won’t allow you to send “from” an alias.

Thank you very much for your reply!
Actually, I do not want to create a new gmail account because I already used a basic gmail account I created only for business. So I just would like to sign when I wrote trough gmail with (email visible only to moderators and staff) instead of (email visible only to moderators and staff)
Is the only way to create a new account?Kind regards,

Hi Simon,
Correct, the only way to make that happen is by signing up for a Google Apps account.
Gmail does not let you send emails using an alias, so any email you send from the “@gmail.com” account will always be sent from “@gmail.com” and not from “@simonrobin-ltd.com”.
If you want to use GMail, and send email using simonrobin-ltd.com, you’ll need to sign up with Google Apps:

Other email providers are available as well:
