How can I setup a Menu with all my Tags on the left hand side of my Posts page
-
Dear All,
I have just signed up and trying to see that I can do exactly what I’d like with the WordPress tools.
My idea is:
One Static Home page with a photo, a static text and a list of the latest posts (I think I have set this up).
One Abut the Author page
One Posts page and
a Menu at the top Home – Blog Title – About (which I have also configured).
What I would like to add is a menu on the posts page, preferably on the left hand side with all the tags for the user to select. Can this be done please and how?
Thanks and best regards

This is not possible on the posts page, no. The posts page differs from your front and about pages in that it’s generated dynamically when someone views your site. In other words, it automatically updates as you add new posts, but doesn’t contain any static content that remains unchanged.
Some themes offer a sidebar that you can use to display widgets on the posts page, but the Hever theme you’re using doesn’t have a sidebar. Sidebar’s are really becoming a thing of the past – it’s not something you’ll find on most modern website designs, and none of our newer themes that I know of offer a sidebar. But if you’d like to look at themes that still offer this feature you can see here:

Alternatively you can use a static page instead of your posts page, use column blocks like you have on your front page, but swap them around so the main column have the latest posts block, configured to show your featured image and a post extract rather than just the title. Then you can add the Tag Cloud block in the other column to list your tags, or even a menu block if you’d prefer a static menu where you have full control over what it shows.
