how can I start a new blog without redirecting to or from a current one?

  I want to start a new blog, but I don’t want it to be directed to or from my current on – watchlog.com. I went through the process of starting the new one – lakeandmain.net , but when I realized the redirection, I cancelled.

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hi there,

  If you start a new blog, it won’t be connected or redirected in any way to your other blogs…unless you choose to link them.

  You can start a new site by clicking this link:
  https://wordpress.com/sites

  Then, scroll to the bottom of the list and click Start a New WordPress.

  I went through the process of starting the new one – lakeandmain.net , but when I realized the redirection, I cancelled.

  Could you explain what you mean by “redirection?”

  Initially, when I started the new blog lakeandmain.net, it would either redirect to thewatchlog.com or vice versa. I figured that out. However, now, my new lakeandmain.net doesn’t come up at all. There appears to be a DNS issue.

  I purchased the domain lakeandmain.net from WordPress.
  I even upgraded to a premium service.
  However, lakeandmain.net does not resolve.
  I get a message that says “DNS needs to be updated.”
  When I click on that I get the following:

  SMTP-FWD.WORDPRESS.COM
  Update your domain’s name servers
  We need to setup lakeandmain.net with WordPress.com

  We’ve completed the technical setup on our servers to successfully map your domain lakeandmain.net to your WordPress.com blog. Now you have to edit the name servers at your registrar to point to us.

  How to change your name servers

  You can usually change your name servers at your domain registrar’s website, but the process is different for each registrar.

  Please visit your registrar’s website or contact their support team for instructions on how to update your name servers.

  Currently the name servers for this domain are:

  NS1.SUSPENDED-FOR.SPAM-AND-ABUSE.COM
  NS2.SUSPENDED-FOR.SPAM-AND-ABUSE.COM
  Using the DNS tools provided by your domain registrar, remove any existing name servers and add the following:

  NS1.WORDPRESS.COM
  NS2.WORDPRESS.COM
  NS3.WORDPRESS.COM
  Then come back here and try again. It may take several hours for our system to recognize the changes.

  Hi there,

  I wanted to do some follow up and house cleaning with you.

  However, now, my new lakeandmain.net doesn’t come up at all. There appears to be a DNS issue.

  I visited lakeandmain.net, and the domain does appear to work. However I am unsure whether the site and domain are working as you hoped. Could you drop me a line and let me know if all is behaving as you want, or if I can help further?
