How can I stop my own IP from registering as a visit to my blog?

    When i view my stats I’m sick of working out how many of those views were actually me – is there any way to set it so that the Stats only record traffic from people who are not me?

    There is no switch your can click.If you blog is public and you are logged in then your visits are not being recorded. http://en.support.wordpress.com/stats/ I’ll tag this thread for a Staff follow-up.     As Timethief said, for users with private blogs, your Site Stats page will show any visits that you have made to your own blog, as well the visits of other users who have access to your blog. If you blog is public your visitors are not being tracked.

    Same Issue (sort of): Yesterday, I went to the WP store and purchased a domain name. I am logged in to WordPress, but now when I visit the blog (and its new URL), it IS counting me as a visitor and adding my visit to my stats. (I have so few page views and the stat change is immediate, so I KNOW it’s me!) I have logged out and logged back into WordPress, and am accessing the blog itself directly thru my WP dashboard. My regular “dashboard” menu that usually appears at the top of most WP blogs isn’t appearing and, I’m still counting in the stats … which makes for more page views, which should make me happy, but isn’t really “real.” Thank you!

    Hi there,

    Usually, this happens if you have third-party cookies disabled in your browser. (Third-party cookies keep you logged in to your WordPress.com account even when the WordPress.com site is using a custom domain.)
