How can I stop posts written in Thai from showing up in my Reader's tag results?
-
In the Reader, when I look at the tags I follow, I’m getting a lot of posts popping up in Thai. For example one of my search terms is in Japanese (“yaoi”), because that term is used by the English community as well. However, the Thai results are clogging up my Reader. Can I control the language of the Reader’s results so I get English only (or English and Spanish)?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I’ve looked at a couple of the sites, and it looks like the sites themselves have fair amount of English, everywhere except the posts… Is that why they aren’t being filtered out? And is there anything that can be done about that?

Hi there,
Unfortunately you wouldn’t be able to filter out mainly English sites if the owners of the sites were tagging their posts – yaoi.
The best way to do this is to follow the blogs that you are interested in and view that through your Reader.
Thank you!

You said mainly English, and I guess that’s my question… because I understand if it’s a blog that posts in a variety of languages — it’s just that these blogs seem to be using a framework in English, but all of their content is in other languages. Here are some examples that come up from the yaoi search:

https://natashalee27.wordpress.com/and quite a few more. So, since they aren’t actually in English, is there no way to filter them out? The reason I run these searches is so I can find new sites to read, but I’d say that well over half of what turns up are sites like these. It just feels like a lot of unnecessary scrolling and wasted time wading through them.
What’s interesting to me is that these East Asian languages are the only ones turning up. I haven’t seen any European languages or noticed any Russian, and those cultures also have a lot of people writing about yaoi. So why are Thai, Korean, Indonesian, etc. the ones turning up?
And, of course, is there really no way I can avoid them?

These sites are tagging their posts with Yaoi. We don’t specifically weed out non Asian languages. We just show whichever posts are tagged with that word. I guess it seems like the users writing in those languages are using tags. This is completely on the user – we just display what the users tag.
