How can I switch to self-hosting?

  My organization purchased a domain name from WordPress and has free hosting. But it is too limiting—I want to take the template and move it to another host. How can I do this?

  Hi there. If you want to move to a different host, that’s no problem. Instructions for either transferring the domain to another registrar or pointing the domain to an external host are listed here: http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/move-domain/

  If you are looking for a hosting company to use for a self-hosted WordPress installation, the ones recommended by the WordPress.org open source project are listed at http://wordpress.org/hosting.
