how can I transfer y email subscribers?
-
I am moving a wordpress.com to a self hosted wordpress page. I’d like to move the email subscribers from one of my wordpress.com pages. How can I do this? I unfortunately did not know about the guided transfer, and have used a host not on your partner list. I have managed to do everything else, but am stumped on the email subscribers.

Hi butterflyangels, we can definitely help you with that. Please confirm 1) the wordpress.com site you want to migrate subscribers from, and 2) the self-hosted, Jetpack-connected blog you want to migrate your subscribers to.

YAY!! I have http://www.butterflyangels.wordpress.com and the newone is http://www.butterflyangelsquilting.com I have checked—-it is connected to jetpack

Ok butterflyangels, your subscriptions are all migrated to your new self-hosted install. :)
You will need to purchase the Site Redirect if you want your traffic from butterflyangels.wordpress.com to be directed to http://www.butterflyangelsquilting.com. Note that all of your subscribers will be sent your new address.

I am having issues with my old subscribers. None of them are receiving the blog, and I can’t see any of them on my list. I don’t think they imported.
I did purchase the Site Redirect. That will help divert some traffic, but there are several people who only rely on the emails.
thank you!

Um—-I went to the old blog to hand-import each email. And they are all gone. Not on the old site, not on the new site. I’m a tad scared.

Hello, don’t be afraid, your subscribers are safe and sound and will be with you shortly. We just ran into a technical problem due to the fact that you moved your self-hosted install around once or twice.
Here are the steps for you to take:
1) Turn off CloudFlare. It can cause problems with Step 2.
2) Go to your Jetpack settings page on your self-hosted blog. Disconnect and then Reconnect from WordPress.com (Hover over the “Connected to WordPress.com” link at the top and click it)
3) Contact me when you’ve done Step 2 and I will finish your migration.

Where is CloudFlare? I clicked on it in the link above everything and I’m supposed to sign up. I havn’t done that yet.
I have done step 2 now, though.

Hello, don’t worry about CloudFlare – it *can* mess up disconnecting/reconnecting to WordPress.com, but it didn’t in this case. It is something your web host likely offers and not part of Jetpack.
Anyway, your subscribers are now properly migrated, so happy publishing on your new self-hosted blog!
