how can i turn an existing post into a page?
-
i would like to turn an existing post into a page.
how can i do it?
of course i can copy the whole thing and do write>page>paste.
but that means i will lose the comments on the original post.
and i need to preserve the comments too.pleeeeeeeese help!
-
you can’t. what you can do is copy all the details of each comment (name of commenter, email, url) into notepad along with the comment, log out of your blog and manually enter each one. it will look as if you’ve shifted all your comments to the new page but all the comments will have your ip because it’s you who’ve pasted those comments.
-
that’s cheating, isn’t it?
sort of.
but i will do it anyway.
if only i could categorise posts in a better way!
posts list stuff alphabetically. and i needed to list stuff according to preference.
i wish i could arrange the order of post manually like pages. -
you could look at it that way, but there’s no bad intention in doing so. also all comments in your blog technically belong to you.
i don’t understand your request about posts. if you want to arrange the order of posts, you could edit the timestamp so you can determine which post appear first or last…

timestamp is cool.
thanks.
i might try it.although i am keen on using posts to list all my fave blogs. i know i can do it with blogrolls, but i am using posts instead to do the same bcos posts have a drop-down menu, which means my fave blogs won’t take up too much space.
(and i will use blogrolls to list my own blogs, which are much much fewer in number, compared to my favourite blogs.)
thanks for ur help!

of course you can use posts to list your favourite links, people do it all the time. no problemo.
