How can I update DNS records with renewyourname.net currently set?
-
I see that currently the name servers for this domain (cadance5678.com) are:
NS1.RENEWYOURNAME.NET
NS2.RENEWYOURNAME.NETWhen I try to do as instructed “Your nameservers need to be set to NS1.WORDPRESS.COM and NS2.WORDPRESS.COM for these DNS records to work. If you have already updated the nameservers you can ignore this message; it will stop appearing soon.” I am unable to find where to do this.
When I go to My Domains > Domain Management > Edit DNS, I see my existing DNS Records for “A”, “NS”, and “CNAME” (all of which say they are “handled by WordPress.com”). I am only physically able to edit “A”, but it recommends that I do not. Then below those options, I am able to edit my MX Records, which I do not need to do.I don’t understand how this has happened as I have not touched these records in quite some time. My website has been working fine all along and then suddenly my site is down. I have only very recently edited the content of the pages, but nothing “behind the scenes”. Could I have been hacked or domain been stolen? My domain (purchased through WordPress and site hosted through WordPress) is not set to renew until January 2015, so that should not be an issue. Previously, I have had my site hosted by and domain provided through iPower, but now have everything through WordPress.
I’ve searched the forums and haven’t found anything that directly solves my problem. When I look at this Q&A: http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/custom-dns/, under the “Editing your DNS records” heading, there is something there that I am unable to access. I am able to click on “Email” and “Edit DNS”, but not the other three options (“Domain Contacts”, “Name Servers”, and “Transfer Domain”). Wouldn’t “Name Servers” be the section that I need to access in order to rectify the situation?
Please help as this is becoming urgent. I’m not too technically savvy and this is prime time for my website as I have new students wanting to register and check out my site (and send emails!) before my session begins in September. Has anyone else had a problem with renewyourname.net (I have never had any dealings with them)? I hope I have explained myself clearly and am desperately pleading for someone to HELP!!!!
In the meantime, should I at least redirect my url to my facebook page so potential customers can see something (and not that my domain seems to be expired)?

Your domain is not registered with us, only mapped here. You’ll need to contact your domain registrar to renew the domain and then change the name servers.
According to a WHOIS result, your registrar is http://www.tucowsdomains.com which is actually a domain reseller.
According to http://www.tucowsdomains.com/management-and-passwords/findprovider/ your registrar is actually http://www.ipower.com/ and they can be contacted via http://www.ipower.com/support/contact.bml
I hope that helps!
