How can i upload an ebook onto my blog?

Hey If I want to upload a pdf file and give it for download on my blog what are the steps?
Is it possible to know how many downloads take place other than by checking the click stats? something more concrete and organized?
hope someone out there who knows more than me would help me!

Upload it just like you would an image and then link to it in your blog, either in a post, or in a text widget in the sidebar.

can i know about the number about downloads? any way to know it or show it to my readers?

You would have to link to an external page where you have it hosted if you want true stats on downloads, or to charge for it. You might want to look at Amazon or some online publishers. Even Lulu.com. Someone surely has an automated E-Book purchasing system available for individual authors. I know some authors were all het up about the Kindle awhile back…same deelio.

i don’t want to charge for it. it’s just a pdf of all of my posts so far. by the way if possible could anyone tell me the step by step process of putting it up for download on my blog. if i upload the pdf and i put the link as a post will it be possible for readers to download it? or would they just be able to see it and then save it perhaps?

You can upload PDFs using the Add Media button (4th button) on the Add Media toolbar. After doing this you will have options to Insert into Post and create the link to the file. Your visitors will be able to click on the link to download the file.
