How can I use different public display name/pseudonym on new blog?

Happy you’re back online with support! I’ve been trying to start another blog: Senior Notes From The Edge and find no way to do this under a pseudonym unless I change my other blog. Is there a way to do this with no cross over of names and with a pseudonym? I’d be happy to upgrade if needed to do this. I do not want to creat another email.

When we register a username account here the email address we provide becomes our unique identifier. When we are logged into WordPress.com and register a blog it’s registered to that username account we are logged in under and to the email address which is our unique identifier. We can register as many blogs as we wish and provided we are using the same username account then all the blogs will be registered under it and the associated email account. We can change our “display name” but that display name will appear on all blogs registered under the same username account.

Thanks, timethief. I’m aware of your response but looking for a way to have a different display name for an individual blog without creating another email address. Hoping I had overlooked something and that I could do this. I appreciate your instructions on transferring a blog and I may have to do that if I move forward…Thanks again!

What you want is not possible. I provided the only option you have.

There is one way, but eventually you WILL make an error and compromise it. In fact, you already have: you named the blog you wanted to create in the first post here and now it is connected iwth your username if someone did a very good search. I have flagged this thread so staff can remove it.
I suggest you alter the name somewhat when you create the blog. Now, to do this, go to your Profile page and create a nickname, whatever you want to be on that blog. Save. From now on, when you want to post on that blog or comment on it, you need to go to your User page, select that nickname, save, and then go post or comment. When leaving that blog, you need to change back to your other username and Save.
But i warn you, everyone screws this up sooner or later and forgets.

Raincoaster…thanks, I think I should create another email address and transfer as timethief suggested. I do like your idea but you’re right; I’m sure to mess up eventually…I might try it anyway. I don’t want to alter the name of the blog I recently named and hope whatever flagging you did doesn’t create a problem.

I do the logging-in and logging out bit and believe me that it’s very easy to screw up. That’s why I didn’t recommend it. You’re welcome from me.
