How can I use FTP/Filezilla with my site?
-
I bought a domain (jayohday.com) and want to use FTP access. I do not know what to enter for the host; I assume my username and password are the same as my wordpress.com account, but let me know if not.
I see that there’s a page saying that FTP is not allowed for WP blogs, but I see guides to using Filezilla on the WordPress.org page. I am confused if I can use it or not; I would like to, though.
On a different note, I do not see “plug-ins” or the ability to edit my theme’s HTML on my menu like I have seen with other WP users. Do I need to pay more to get these features? Thanks. The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there, it sounds like you’re in need of a self-hosted WordPress.org site, rather than a WordPress.com-hosted one. Here are the main differences between the two services:
FTP access and plugins are only available if you’re self-hosting your blog.
Please let me know if you have questions. If you tell me what changes/functionality you want to add to your WordPress.com site, maybe I can offer some alternatives to plugins.
Please let us know if you have any other questions. Cheers.
