how can I use my premium theme in multiple domains?

  • Unknown's avatar

I am trying to create other pages or links in my menu bar that look similar to the home page, But I can’t. All it does is create a new page but it does not allow me to add many posts as in my home page.

The only way I kind of figure to do this was adding a new link domain in the menu bar, but now I can’t use my premium theme. I need some help.

    Hi Rosa!

Happy to help you here. I’m not entirely sure what you’re looking to accomplish. Are you trying to add new pages with a URL like rositapetit.wordpress.com/about that sit in the menu area of your site?

If so, you’ll want to create some new pages as explained here:

    Create a page

Then, you can build a custom menu and add those new pages as explained here:

    Menus

    Please clarify if I misunderstood!

    Hi,

Thanks so much for your support. I’m not really sure if I am doing things how I am supposed to. I went through the instructions but maybe I don’t understand well enough.
What I am trying to do is create a “new tab” that looks similar to the way my home page arrange posts. In this “new tab” I want to add posts different from my home page.

The way I resolved this problem was adding a link (url) to the menu structure. This new URL was created with a separate theme because I couldn’t use my Gallery theme without paying again.

Is this understandable? If you go to my page, you will see “home” and the “Work Exp” and “Visual Arts”. I want to add completely different projects to each of them and I want the look to be like the home page (little squares for each different post/project).

    I hope this helps,
    Thanks one more time

    Rosa

Thanks for clarifying Rosa! So, it looks like you created different sites (http://rositapetitwrk.wordpress.com/ for example) to separate out your content. A better way of achieving this would be to create different categories on the same site.

    Organize Posts with Categories

For instance, you would create a category titled “Work Exp.” Then, any posts assigned to that category will be grouped together. Finally, you can use a category page to display posts from a specific category as explained here:

    http://en.support.wordpress.com/category-pages/

Can you try setting that up?

    Hi,

Never mind, I went over the “create a new page” instructions again and I finally found out what I need it. All I had to do was create categories!!

Now, one last question, is there any way I can bring post from one URL to another? (rositapetit’wrk’.wordpress.com to rositapetit.wordpress.com.)

    Thanks!
    Rosa

You can export them from the former blog (rositapetitwrk.wordpress.com) following the instructions here:

    Export your website’s content

Then, you can import them into the rositapetit.wordpress.com site following the instructions here:

    Import a Website

Let me know if you have any trouble!
