How can I use WP domain name for my indiemade site?

Please set up a CNAME for www for classoncreations.indiemade.com. Then please redirect all traffic from classoncreations.com to http://www.classoncreations.com. Thanks!

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there. I need clarification. If the subdomain you want looks like this: classoncreations.indiemade.com, then this insinuates that indiemade.com/ is the primary domain. If this is the case, the subdomain needs to be created with them.

If you want to register a subdomain based on the domain you have registered with WordPress, your subdomain would look like this: indiemade.classoncreations.com/.

If the latter is the case, you need to create that subdomain via the steps seen here:
    http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-subdomain/

Then please redirect all traffic from classoncreations.com to http://www.classoncreations.com.

All WordPress.com websites are stripped of the www, as it is extraneous. The link to your site is http://classoncreations.com/. However, you can tell other folks that your site is http://www.classoncreations.com and they will all be sent to the same location.

This link might shed more light on the topic:

Looking forward to hearing from you. Thanks very much.

Who actually owns my domain name. Plus I do not want to create a subdomain. It seems that I don’t have any control over my domain name with you which I thought I had. Can you clarify this? And who is hosting my domain name?

    Hi there!

Who actually owns my domain name.

You own your domain name, and you manage it here at WordPress.com. We can help you map it, or forward it, anyway you like.

It seems that I don’t have any control over my domain name with you which I thought I had.

You have control over your domain, and always have access to your Domain information by going to your Dashboard:
classoncreations.wordpress.com/wp-admin/. Click Store → My Domains. All domain management can be done from that page.

Currently, although you own classoncreations.com/, you have not set it as your primary domain. If you make that adjustment, all your site’s visitors will see classoncreations.com in their toolbar, rather than classoncreations.wordpress.com/. If you would like to do this, while you are in Store → My Domains, click classcreations.com, and then click the button marked Update Primary Domain.

Please set up a CNAME for www for classoncreations.indiemade.com.

It will help clear up any CNAME/subdomain confusion if you can tell me specifically what your goal is. Are you hoping to create a link from your site classoncreations.com that sends visitors to classoncreations.indiemade.com? If so, I can help you create that link if you tell me where you want it. If you are hoping that your site will behave in a different manner, please let me know specifically.

I look forward to hearing from you! Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks.

What I was trying to do was use http://www.classoncreations.com for my indiemade site. Is this a possibility. I want to keep my blog going at wordpress but would like to use my domain for my indiemade website.
    Any suggestions

Also if I go into my domains what should the domain contact information be? Right now there is a company called DomainbyProxy.. Just wondering about this as well. This is all new to me so any help is great.

    Hi there,

You can use your custom domain, classoncreations.com for your indiemade site. If you decide to go that route, you would move your domain from WordPress.com, to another domain host. Then, you’d follow indiemade’s instructions on how to map your custom domain to your site, classoncreations.indiemade.com/.

Here are details about how you would transfer your domain to another host:
    http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/move-domain/

You mentioned that you would want to maintain your blog here at WordPress.com. If you’re using classoncreations.com as the primary domain for your indiemade site, then your blog here would no longer be able to use it in that manner. Have you thought about how you would like to handle that? Would you revert to classoncreations.wordpress.com as your blog address?

Your domain contact information is hidden online as you’ve opted for Private Registration. That’s why it might look a little confusing. You’ve registered your domain through WordPress.com. To view the actual contact information for your domain, you should look at Store → My Domains in your Dashboard. You can manage all your contact information from there.

Let me know if I can help answer any other questions. Looking forward to working with your further.

Right now I am trying their 30 day free trial so I will leave everything as it is. But if I do decide to keep it then I would revert back to my classoncreations.wordpress.com for my blog address. I’ll see how the next few weeks go before I switch anything over.

I’ll let you know what I decide to do.

Sounds great. Thank you very much for letting me know. I look forward to hearing your final decision on the matter! All the best to you :)
