If your blog is new, it will take some time for search engines to discover it. Google says “it is possible for a site to be crawled/indexed within 4 days to 4 weeks.”
Other than writing content and making sure your privacy settings allow search engines to index it, there’s nothing you have to do.
WordPress.com takes care of indexing your site and of all necessary SEO for you without your having to do anything at all (other than blog)!
