How can make Jetpack stats not count my admin visits?
-
I am about ready to turn this plugin off! I used stats prior to being “forced” to go to Jetpack. It had a setting to ignore admin visits. That was awesome because I actually work on my site quite a bit and do not my views to add noise to the stats. With Jetpack I do not have that option and my stats are terribly skewed. Please fix this or help me write a function to ignore the admins.
Also why can’t I just add stats? I do not need all of the other features of Jetpack. This has become a heavyweight plug-in!
Thanks,
Toni

From the Jetpack section of your blog’s Dashboard, click the Configure button in the Stats module and uncheck “Count the page views of registered users who are logged in.”
From the Jetpack section, you can also disable any undesired modules.

This – Count the page views of registered users who are logged in will not work as I have lots of registered users that I do want to count. I do not want to count admins, which is basically me doing my work. This seems like a simple code change to filter out role=admin. If there is a way for me to do this manually please advise.
The deactiviate is hidden until you “Learn More” I used it but it seems a little tough from a user experience.
Thanks for getting back to me!

While it is possible to modify the Jetpack core patch, we do not recommend making any changes as these will be overridden by any updates to the Jetpack plugin in the future.
However, we have noted your suggestion to keep in mind for future updates to Jetpack :)
