How can my followers receive email notification of new projects posted?

Because of how we want to front page of our blog to look, we having to create new projects within our portfolio rather than posts. It seems that the way that the notifications are set up the only way that folks get an email about something new is if it is a post — can we change that so they can get notified every time we create a new project?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hey there!

Because your projects will display on a page, email notifications are not sent out. If you’d like notifications to be emailed, my recommendation is to collect your visitor’s email addresses via a contact form:

    http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact-form/

You can use a service such as MailChimp to send out your notifications.

Sorry I can’t be more helpful with an automated solution, but I hope this work-around will work for you.

Please let us know if you have any other questions. Thanks much!

What a bummer! There is no way to embed in the back end code a notification for new projects??

    Hey there!

There isn’t a way to do this, unfortunately. The only items that are included in your RSS Feed (where the content is grabbed for the email notifications) are your posts. The only solution, in addition to the couple I mentioned, is to add a link to your projects within your posts.

Sorry I cannot be more helpful with this issue! If you do have any other questions, though, I’m happy to be of assistance. Let me know. Thanks!
