how can my friends see my posts?
-
Hello
How can others go in and see my posts. I just realised that when someone go into wordpess and search my blog name, they are actually on the author site? help! thank you -
Is this your website: https://thedcmystic.wordpress.com/? Your username links to that page, which is public, and therefore available to be visited by your friends. What is “the author site” that you refer to?

Your posts are here: https://thedcmystic.wordpress.com/posts/, which is easily reached via the “Posts” link in your header menu.

I’d like to add to what musicdoc1 has posted.
There is also no mass mailing feature here at WordPress.com. Your followers can subscribe to receive your posts by email and they alone can control the frequency of receipt. You cannot subscribe for them or control the frequency of receipt of your posts by them.
IMPORTANT Note: When followers or commenters provide an email address for a specific purpose you cannot use it for any other purpose. In fact doing that in Canada is against the law.
You can create a Subscribe page and clearly state on it that you intend to harvest email addresses if that’s what you want to do. http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/
You can add and customize a contact form with multiple fields, change the email address where you’ll be notified, and mark feedbacks as spam from your dashboard on that page. http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact-form/
Additional information:
You can set up email subscriptions here > Appearance > Widgets > Follow Blog Widgets by using this guide > http://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/follow-blog-widget/If you would like a follow button to appear on the bottom right hand corner of your site for those who do not have WordPress.com accounts go to > Settings > Reading and scroll down to Follower Settings:
These settings change emails sent from your blog to followers.
Logged out users __ Show follow button to logged out users.Checking this will present a follow button to logged out users in the bottom corner of their screen.

We have a subscription shortcode which you can make use of. The help page on it is right here: http://en.support.wordpress.com/blog-subscription-shortcode/ You can also include the subscription shortcode at the end of every post you publish.

If you want to use MailChimp with your WordPress.com site right now you can do so by creating a link to the signup form on MailChimp and providing it to your visitors. Here’s the info from MailChimp Support http://kb.mailchimp.com/article/how-to-add-a-mailchimp-signup-form-to-your-wordpress-blog

The WordPress.com search engine indexes post, pages, and comments content (body text). Unless entered as text in those contents, blog name, post titles, and post/comment author names are not indexed. http://en.support.wordpress.com/wordpresscom-search/
