How can one visitor view my blog from 5 countries?

  • Unknown's avatar

My stats tell my that today I have 1 visitor and 9 views. I assume this means that one person viewed 9 pages.

But my ‘VIEWS BY COUNTRY’ stats directly below it, tell me that 5 views were from Australia, one from the UK, one from the US and one from Brazil.

How is this possible? If there’s some technical error, please fix it. If I’m interpreting the meaning of the visitor and views incorrectly, please enlighten me!

    Hi there,

The discrepancy between the number of views (including views by country) and visitors in your stats is due to how we calculate those stats for your blog. Typically a view is reported within five minutes, while it can take up to two hours to report new visitors. At any given time, your visitor count may lag behind your view counts.

One thing you can do is wait until the following day, and then check your stats for the previous day — that will help ensure that all the stats from that day have been calculated and you’re getting the complete data.

I hope that helps explain it! We also have more details about your blog’s stats here: Stats

Please let me know if you have any questions about that. :)
