How can there be 1 visitor from 2 countries?
-
I published a new post at 8 AM today. At 9:13 AM my stats said that I had 1 visitor and 3 views. The views by country said one view was from Britain and two from the US. How can that be?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

A similar situation occurred this morning as well. The stats reports 1 visitor and 7 views. There were 5 views from Australia and 2 from the US.
Of course, the discrepancy is only visible on a site with only a little traffic and early in the recording period. Still, how can this be?

Maybe they fly like Superman?
Page views and countries are almost real time (typically a few seconds delay) because they are easy to do
the visitor count can take 2 or 3 hours to show a visitor – much more checking to do – big database search – they need to check each visitor to see if they have visited your site today and then record some info on the visit – so the daily, weekly, monthly stats are correct –
i.e. – if a person visits your site every day – that is 1 visitor a day, but that same person should only be counted as 1 for the week or month
the visitor count should be accurate for any given day a few hours after midnight
