How can viewers open sub-categories?

  • Unknown's avatar

    I have a parent category “Manilla NSW” with child categories “Monthly weather”, “Season weather” and “3-year climate trends”.
    In the menu I have made the parent category an item and the child categories sub items under it.
    I find that clicking the parent category shows all its posts as “Category archives: Manilla NSW”. I cannot click the child categories. I need people to be able to do that, either with or without clicking the parent category.

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hello there! Your CSS edit is interfering with your drop down menu.

    Please go to Appearance → Customize. Click CSS and delete the following from the revisions box:

    ul {
    font-size: 120%;
    }

    Save your changes and your menu function will return.

    If you wish to make the text larger, without harming the use of your menu items, please click Appearance → Customize. In the right-hand menu, click Fonts. The titles in your main menu are controlled by the Body Font option. Choose a font face, then choose a font size that you find visually pleasing. Save your changes.

    Please let me know if you have any questions about this. Best to you!

    I have remembered why I changed the font size for unordered lists.
    I want it to do that, and the same for ordered lists and perhaps others I haven’t found yet. I have an unordered list in my About page, and I really don’t want it too small to read.
    Can I get list fonts uniform with my enlarged paragraph font without upsetting the menu?
    While dealing with the menu, I would like it in bold, because the colour I have chosen is on the decision point for making the text black or white, so it is not very easy to read either way.
    Thanks.

    Hi @surlybond, let’s make the selector a little more specific so that it catches lists in the content area only. The following will catch both ordered and unordered lists in the content area.

    .entry-content ul, .entry-content ol {
        font-size: 120%;
    }

    Thanks, Sacred. That seems to have fixed that problem.
