How can we stop all the spam comments?

  We have recently been getting bombarded with spam comments. 37 in total over the past 36 hours. Is there any way to safeguard against having to deal with these comments?

  Hi! Are the comments making it through Akismet’s spam filter and showing up on your blog or in the normal moderation queue?

  If so, marking them as spam is the best way to help Akismet learn to filter them out in the future.
