How can we stop spam on a Personal WordPress plan?

We are a small group and can’t afford anything other than the Personal plan between us. How are we supposed to stop contact form spam on our Personal WordPress plan? Akismet didn’t detect some SEO spam/scam sent to us today and obviously we have no ability to add captcha, or any other plugins.

Hi there!
While you can only add additional plugins like captcha with the WordPress.com Business plan and higher, our industry-standard spam prevention system called Akismet is active on all plans. You don’t need to upgrade to a stronger spam prevention system. The same system is active on all WordPress.com sites on all plans.
With that said, some spam comments do occasionally get through, and you can teach Akismet by marking them as spam. Over time, as Akismet learns, it will stop those spam comments from getting through.
