How can WordPress’ Featured Christianity Blog -NOT BE CHRISTIAN
-
Could someone explain to me how WordPress’ Featured Blog for the Christianity Tag – not be a Christian Blog?
-
-
Because everyone can use the tags they like and be successful with it, CHRISTIAN OR NOT!
-
I do realize the freedom to use any tag you feel like using. Bless God that I am not that naive or lacking in intelligence. Which gives me a very innovative idea, since my blog is about Christianity predominantly I will apply a dose of reverse psychology (in a sense) and add the atheism tag to my blog. :)
-
I could tag an entry about paganism, with the Christianity tag; and if I get enough hits; that’s all it would take. Everyone’s interpretation of tag use is different.

The current christian blog talks about religious topics. Seems kind of appropriate, don’t ya think? http://renzodilorenzo.wordpress.com/2008/06/25/a-few-interesting-links-over-at-wdtprs/

@cornerinsight
Go ahead. the competition is open (I’m not competing in this field, though) -

If using tags causes a positive discussion then that can only be a good thing. Using tags inappropriately will most likely cause people to never come back.
I can certainly see that any blog post which discusses religion could list any number of other faiths if they are discussed, just like a political blog could tag with the extreme movements.
But as for where blogs feature – it is not decided by a person and they do change.

Expecting an automated tag system to test for religious faith is not realistic. Featured blogs are just based on an algorithm that has something to do with the number of times someone has used that tag. If a Muslim talks about relations with the Western World, a Christianity tag may be appropriate. If an atheist talks about Intelligent Design, the same applies.
Lower your expectations: it’s an automated system for connecting everyone who is talking about a subject, not everyone who supports a movement.

THANK you. Yes. Bless God cornerinsight understands the technology too and is not that naive or lacking in… oh wait.

I have “Religion” tagged under my latest post, but it’s actually a post about the Zodiac…I guess I’m like the McDonald’s Hamburglar or something, catch me if you can!
Seriously though, I mentioned in my post that I’m not religious and I prescribe to Astrology instead (lol), so I feel that warrants a Religion tag, but that’s just my opinion…and thank goodness I can have that.

in many “philosophical debates”, bloggers will tag a post to get the attention of a “rival” argument. we will see “religion” tag in a post that argues against religious doctrine.
also in political sites. you will see “democrat” in Republican party posts here in the U.S. and vica versa.
Its part of the communication of blogging!
