How can you click on a link that isn't there?

  • Unknown's avatar

This past month for the first time ever I have been
getting strange data recorded on the “Clicks” wid-
get, specifically: that visitors clicked on links which
do not exist on my blog.

The first two were google search.com entries, but I
don’t have Google Search on my blog, and have
never seen these before. The last two were Word-
    Press.com blog addresses.

I have looked all over my site and these links are
not parked on it anywhere as far as I can see. So
    where do they come from?

    Thanks!

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

They could be advertising links as wordpress.com runs advertising on our blogs. They could be links from Zemanta if you use it. They could be from possibly related posts or your blogroll or links in your posts or on your pages. See here > http://en.support.wordpress.com/stats/#clicks

They could be clicks on the username links of other wordpress.com bloggers who commented on your blog.
