How can you make the photo's colour change in Patch theme?

I am setting up a site with content like a book. Its not so much of a blog. But I like the feature where the photo changes colour and becomes black and white when your cursor goes over it in Patch theme. I have bought the Patch theme but this feature does not seem to work unless I make a blog entry? But I won’t be making blog entires. So how else can I get this feature to work for me? https://thoseinchargeofchange.com. Thank-you very much.
