I don’t know. If I upload the wrong image, I’ll hang around for the one or two seconds it takes to upload, then delete it.

-
While you’re at the Insert Media page, you will find an Attachment Details meta box (or module) on the right. Below the image you should see a red colored Delete Permanently link. Click on it, then ok the deletion in the popup box.
Alternatively, you can delete any image in your media library.

At dashboard > media library, or go directly to

-
At the media library, it’s easier to delete images from the list view which would be
https://peterkarlladage.wordpress.com/wp-admin/upload.php?mode=list
In list view you can delete in bulk, up to 20 images at a time.

Okay. Then follow the initial instructions I gave above,

ty, but the difficulty is that the upload erratically happens *before* the box (or module) appears. sorry, but it’s erratic and i can’t duplicate it. if i leave it for a few hours, it seems to go away; maybe that’s the best (the only?) solution. not that it’s a real solution….

If you’re on the Insert Media page, the Attachment Details box will appear immediately when you click on any image displayed in the window. It shouldn’t hesitate to appear, but it doesn’t really matter if there is a slight delay. After it appears, you may use it to delete images, which appear with the most recently uploaded displaying first.

Agreed. That’s not a real solution.

as i said, it happens erratically. i can't make it occur at this time, but i'll try your suggestion the next time it *does* happen.
