How come I am able to see my own dashboard on some other peoples’ wordpress blogs, but not others? And why is it, that even when I am logged into wordpress my id does not appear automatically when posting comments on other wordpress blogs. I used to be able to see my own dashboard while on a friend’s blog, but not anymore? Why is this?

If they are blog hosted here on wordpress.COM, then your dashboard will show up. If they are self-hosted blogs using the software downloaded from wordpress.ORG, then the grey admin bar will not show up. They are not connected.
See the sticky post at the top of the forums about the difference between .COM and .ORG.
And please don’t post the same question in two different threads. It makes more work for us volunteers.
