How configure a WP link library to update multiple instances of links together

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hello,

Our site has external links which sometimes need to be found and updated, one at a time.

Is it possible to use instead a named : link map which can be updated from the wp console, thus updating all instances of that link on every page in the site?

I feel this must be a common and well documented issue, but I am missing some essential vocabulary (or concept?) to search for it effectively.

    Thanks all.

(the blog I need help with isn’t ribodev.wordpress.com! I didn’t write that bit.)

  • Hi there,

the blog I need help with isn’t ribodev.wordpress.com! I didn’t write that bit

Can you tell us the URL of the correct site, as that will determine whether or not this is possible and where you can ask for help with this. I don’t see any other sites in your account with us.

Right now you’re posting in the support forums for the hosting provider, WordPress.com. On a free WordPress.com site like http://ribodev.wordpress.com/ this isn’t possible.

On our Pro plan, or on a site built with the open source version of WordPress at another host, this should be possible using a search-and-replace plugin, or by updating your site’s database directly. But I’m not able to recommend anything specific in this regard.

For advice on the best plugin/method to use for this, please ask the WordPress.org community, who make the WordPress software, in their forums at https://wordpress.org/support/forums/

    Thank you so much.
Find and replace did the trick.

  • Glad I could help :)
