How Could Persons Subscribe to My RSS Feed?
-
I’m probably missing something here, but I thoght it’d be worth a shot… My browser’s address bar displays a small feed icon for sites, such as blogs, where content is frequently updated. (This is browser standard, I use both IE & Firefox.) If I click on it, I can subscribe to the site/content in question and also choose how to do this, via email for example. Wouldn’t that be an option, or perhaps more advanced features are required? Or I am missing the point completely… If so, sorry to trouble you!

Thanks Aletorro. Your post was the instruction I needed to post a link to my WordPress blog RSS feed.

Thank you. All WP.com blogs have an RSS feed built in. People only need Feedburner if they want improved stats and/or to offer email updates. Some themes have the feed button built in, and in some you have to add it yourself. I see you’ve got yours in the sidebar already.

I have no idea. You could try googling. Why do you need a different alternative? What are you trying to accomplish?

The feeds that Feedburner or any external service makes are just remixed versions of the WP.com feed. As far as I know, that’s not reconfigurable at the WP.com level, so it’s not an option for any external service either.

I have followed all of the directions above and still cannot get this to work. I created a text widget and typed in the following text:
<img src=”img src=”http://faq.files.wordpress.com/2006/11/l28.png”/>
Then, I selected “done” and then save.
When I go to the site, nothing is in the text box and when I return to the widge, the text is changed.
What am I doing wrong?
Thanks in advance.

One more for the RSS feed. I followed the instructions and now have a bright red POSTS button on the exact same place where my right column used to be… but the right column is gone! Why? Can I get it back and still have the RSS button? How? Please help! My blog is http://www.globalcoachcenter.wordpress.com

That is because, when you make the first change to the sidebar it wipes out all the default widgets. You just have to go to Appearance->Widgets and put back the ones you want. There’s nothing wrong with the way you’ve set up the RSS button. It’s just that this happens when the first sidebar change is made, no matter what that change is.

I have a blog with a theme that is very neat but (therefore) has no sidebars. Is there any other way I could get people subscribed to it? I have a page next to “home” where I would like to ask people to subscribe. Is it possible to fit it in there somehow?
Oh, the address: http://klaustoon.wordpress.com/

Simply add the links to the subscribe page you have set up. You can use one of the icons that wordpress has in the FAQ’s and then link it to your feed URL’s.
You can get the URL’s of the feed icons here: http://faq.wordpress.com/2006/10/23/put-your-feed-in-your-sidebar/

I, too have the, “An error has occurred; the feed is probably down. Try again later.” message. My blog is http://www.larryabell.com
I’m brand new, just set it up. Any ideas? Thank you.
