How create an Affiliate program
-
A warm good morning to all,
First of all I want to express my appreciation to all those who offer help to many on this portal, because without them, often we would not go forward … and I sincerely hope to be one of the lucky ones to receive your help :-)
We will have to advertise some culinary events with limited places that will go from Tuesday to Sunday from 12 to 15 and from 16 to 19. These events are usually sold on Airbnb, GetYourGuide and similar. We would like to be able to sell them also through “friends” and collaborators who in exchange will receive commissions (therefore create an affiliate program). We will also have to create a system to avoid overbooking, that is, to be able to update how many places we occupy for a time slot with Airbnb and how many with collaborators. The customer will have to be able to see a calendar with the available places date by date and relative time slot.
In the meantime, can you tell me if WordPress is the right CMS to do this? (I come from the Joomla world). Can you tell me if WooCommerce is suitable for this aforementioned time scheduling system? What plugin or system do you recommend I use for the affiliate system and why? How to manage overbooking and payment with electronic invoicing?
Thanks in advance to anyone who wants to lend a hand.

WordPress is very suitable especially when paired with plugins like WooCommerce and booking/affiliate systems. For time schedule event, I will recommend WooCommerce Bookings (official plugin): It allows customers to book by date and time slot. It Can limit available spaces per time slot. It also syncs with Google Calendar for better management. These will help you avoid overbooking by setting a limit per slot (e.g., 12 seats at 12:00, 10 at 16:00).
To allow collaborators to sell and get commission, use an affiliate plugin. I will recommend AffiliateWP because i have personally used it. you can seamlessly integrate with WooCommerce, It tracks sales by referrers, you can generate affiliate links for each collaborator. It generally has good reporting and payment options
You’d assign each “friend” an affiliate ID, and track who referred what. Commissions can be paid manually or through automated systems like PayPal Payouts.
Also to manage overbooking, you can use a channel manager. Example: Bokun (owned by Tripadvisor). It can sync inventory across Airbnb, GetYourGuide, Viator, and your WordPress site it avoids double-booking, centralizes availability. I hope this helps

Thank you very much for your reply message.
Can you recommend a valid alternative to WooCommerce Bookings? The reviews are really bad and I would also like to find something free if possible.
Thank you in advance for any help you can give me. -

Hello my friend.
I am trying with great difficulty to create what I have exposed.Do you know if AffiliateWP or other affiliate plugins, work WITHOUT WooCommerce, associating them directly with a booking plugin like BookingPress or Simply Schedule Appointments or Amelia?
Thank you very much. You are very kind.
