How did someone get my email address?

  I posted a comment on someone’s blog, and I was pretty shocked to receive an email from that person direct to my email address. I didn’t think my email address was visible to anyone and I can’t find any settings to hide it. How could another wordpress blogger get my email address from a comment?

  You had to input your email address in order to post the comment. It’s visible to any admins of that blog.

  I didn’t input my email address. I was logged in and just left the comment… Guess I’ll be changing my email address to one I don’t use so I can post comments without getting emails from random people.

  Just remember that whatever email address you use in your WordPress.COM profile is where your own blog’s email will be sent.

  If you are logged in, your email is left automatically.
