how did wordpress get my private email address?

  I have a public email address. I also have a private one. Comment notifications should go to the public one. That is the only address WordPress has in my profile. Nevertheless, one notification also went to my private email address. I’m wondering how, and WordPress “help” is not helping unless I fork over money. Since I use this only for logging to WordPress sites, I don’t see the point of that.

  We’d be happy to help but I cannot see any website in your account at WordPress.com. Are you sure that your site is a WordPress.com site and not a self-hosted WordPress site?
